Turntable

Turntable is a gambling horror game played at a round table in the dark.

You and up to four other guests sit around a turning wheel of covered plates. Every round, each of you hides a card under the plate in front of you. Some are empty. Some pay out. Some are Blood. Then someone wins the right to turn the wheel and everyone has to deal with whatever stops in front of them.

You have three candles (lives). Blood puts them out. When your last one goes, you're Taken, and the Host keeps you (you lose).

There are three ways to win:

• Save up and pay the Door Price before the record ends;
• Be the last guest with a candle still lit;
• Or get your Blood in front of the Host, put out its last candle, and kill the host yourself.

The story

A masked man picks you up in the rain and drives you to Halloway Street. There's a record shop there and a clerk who wants a password. Behind the shop is a hall of doors, and behind each door a Host runs its own table. Your winnings carry from table to table. So do the guests who survive, and so do your wounds. Walk out of every room alive, or put out every Host's last candle, and see how the night ends.

Seven of them, each with its own room, its own rules and its own way of finishing you:

• the Butcher
• The Usurer
• The Mourner
• The Jester
• The Choir
• and a seventh you have to earn.
